Abstract
At the heart of the discourse on transforming the hearts and mindsets to drive sustainable change at the organizational, community, and national level is the role of corporate purpose as an agent to unify through the elimination of tension between profit maximization and societal benefit, guide the evolution of strategies, priorities, and decision making, and drive commitment towards sustainable development priorities across all levels of the organization. This article will explore the challenges and opportunities of leveraging “corporate purpose” as a lever to drive positive and meaningful change in the African continent.
