Kurwa and His Attitude | By Mwanawetu Mmuni (Tanzania)

Abstract

In Kurwa and His Attitude, Kurwa’s complicated relationship with animals is explored through two stories.

  1. Kurwa and Dog: Kurwa, who dislikes animals, drives away his dog when it follows him to a farm. Later, when a snake attacks, the dog saves him but is tragically killed by bystanders who misunderstand the situation. Kurwa regrets his actions too late, reflecting on the irreversible consequences.
  2. Kurwa and Chicks: Kurwa is frustrated by the animals around him, especially the ducks that disturb his garden. He longs for peace, but his parents explain the importance of allowing the ducks to roam. This story highlights his desire for solitude amid the noise of farm life.

Both stories illustrate Kurwa’s struggle with responsibility and the consequences of his attitude toward the animals.
